Minimum payout

Monday, May 30th, 2011

While testing an ad network, an important consideration is the minimum payout level.  If the payout level is very high, it can be many months or years before you receive payment.  Some times, you do not receive the payment due to you , and your time spent testing the ad network is wasted.

GlobalTakeoff.net

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Global Takeoff is a banner advertising network, which computes revenue based on the number of impressions and country of origin of the traffic.   The minimum payout is $25 and they promise to pay within 30-45 days of the close of the month. However, no payment has been received and there is no reply from support to emails.

Neobux referral program

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

Neobux is one of the most popular PTC’s  which pays you to view ads  as they offer instant payout.  If you have a large number of referrals,  you can get a steady source of income . However, you get credited for your referrals earnings only if you click ads that day.  Else your account is not credited any money.  So if you can end up losing several dollars a day, if you do not click on at least 4 ads a day on Neobux.

Squidoo payment

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

In the last 2 months there seems to be an increase in the payouts from Squidoo.  While the payments from most PPC programs have decreased due to the recession,  I have received more from them and reached the payout threshhold of $5 faster.

Are they sharing more, or are more high paying ads being displayed?

Size of company

Monday, January 12th, 2009

One of the factors to be considered for payments is the size of the company. The larger the company, the better the systems it will have in place for payments, so you are likely to get your payment on time.

However, some large companies delay the payments to their vendors a lot, and these are best avoided. In the current economy, many companies are facing a cash crunch.

Holding payments

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Most online advertising networks have an option by which you can withhold the payment  till it reaches a certain amount. This option is useful if the payment is sent by check in US$ and you live in a foreign country.

Many banks charge a fixed amount for converting a foreign currency check to local currency and this amount can be as high as $7 per check irrespective of the amount. So if you have a small check, most of the payment will be wasted in bank charges. The disadvantages of holding payment is that the company may no longer exist after some time, and you may lose your money.

Payment systems

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Most online advertising programs use basically 2 different payment systems

Periodic payment - usually weekly, once in two weeks or once a month. Some programs may have a certain minimum amount after which payment is made.

Request payment - you can request payment after the amount in your account reaches a particular threshold.  The payment is then processed in a few days or once a week.

Both systems have their own advantage and disadvantages.

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I received the first payment from Smorty within a week,  the second after 10 days,  but now it is more than a month and I have not received any payment.  Their support is also not very helpful.
